Climb up to the green summer pastures of the Tichka Plateau and take time to explore its circle of surrounding peaks. The Western High Atlas offers an opportunity to trek through a quiet and unspoiled, verdant mountain landscape in which rivers are plentiful. Mostly at a lower altitude than much of the High Atlas Mountains, the region nonetheless offers a string of significant peaks which tower well above 3000m and, as fewer trekkers come here, there is a genuine sense of remoteness. What is more, this is a corner of the Atlas in which traditional customs strongly prevail and local architecture, along with so much else, remains less affected by outside pressures.
